Live Coding for Performance
Workshop in creating live coded music by Antonio Roberts
In this workshop, Antonio Roberts AKA Hellocatfood introduced us to the basics of live coding music. Live coding is a performative practice where artists and musicians use code to create live music and live visuals. A great example of live coding in action is our Algorave in March 2023.
The main software being taught in this workshop was TidalCycles: an environment for live coding music with algorithmic patterns. By the end of the workshop, we learned the skills needed to create our own performances using live coding tools.
